People, here is the challenge, who can offer the most innappropriate way to use one of these purple and orange wonders.

Track/Fixed conversion, Hawaiian ironman, mounting place for your 1950 's vintage NOS campagnolo record group?

If I could buy one for$50 bucks, I would probably have a go.

For those of us not in Vic, what are these wonders? The government provides
bikes over there?

One rocked up at the Kew crits tonight.
I was getting flashes of that film, 'Breaking Away' where that college race is done on standard issue bikes (not orange/purple tho and no Dennis Quaid)

I think they will claim it was "successful" in getting people on the
tour and thus, hopefully into bicycle riding.

Seems to have been punishment for the volunteers working as breakdown
crews.

I know it got at least one person back on his bike. My uncle did the GVBR - he was certainly swayed by the free bike having not riden for I'm not sure how many years. He found the first three days a little rugged but after that really loved it. Even said it was well organised! He's now thinking of doing the Tassy ride in Feb. So what you say? He's 83. I reckon that's not a bad thing.

I think there should be some Aus.bicycle records set on the track - Flying 200's, Kilo, Pursuit, Hour. Of course, the only velodrome worthy would have to be the Hawthorn triathladrome.

Cash converters would probably be his best bet to sell these. Don't see why
he doesn't just give it to his little sister.

I think your comments are good.
Everyone else seems to be bagging the event and the bikes.
I know for a fact that if enough criticism is thrown at the people that run,
sponsor, pay for the event, they won't hold it again.
