installing bottom bracket

I put anti-seize inside the threadings and will put loctite where the ring meets the cartridge body.

If the threads aren't full of crud or the cartridge isn't being interfeered with by a cable guide screw,something else is wrong. Don't use a bigger wrench.You don't happen to have the non drive cu screwed all the way in do you?AWIW, there is no point to loctite, especially where you were going to put it.For what good it would you, you might as well have stuck it in your ear.

I don't use it and I've done 4 bottom brackets in the last 18 months. Never had a problem. Not yet anyway. <<knocking on wood>>

One important thing when removing/replacing a BB is using the correct tools. It sounds like you're using what you found out in the garage. Not good.
