Insurance for PBP

I am researching two insurance questions in connection with the
Paris-Brest-Paris event in august - and I was hoping someone has been
there before.

The regulations for the PBP states that Non-French in order to register
must present : "photocopy of insurance certificate. "

I have read the (machine) traslated english version of the regulations,
and I have googled intensely to find information of what must be covered
by the mandatory insurance.
As I understand it, the organizers are providing a liability insurance and
a medical repatrion insurance for the participants.
(Quote)
A "Responsabilité Civile - Défense et Recours" policy has been taken out
by the organisers throughout the length of the event, for all material or
corporal damages caused to a third party by a participant.
A medical repatriation option is added to this contract for all the
participants.
This contract does not cover any damage to the cycle or the equipment
because of a fall or because of theft. A personal insurance must be taken
out to cover these risks.

(Unquote)

I could understand, if the organizers would demand from the participants,
to buy these insurance coverages, but it's even better that they take care
of it for everybody. But what else could they or do they demand? More
insurance could be recommendable, but mandatory?

It's not, that I want to question the rules and regulations. I just want
to know, what they are:
What is covered by the insurance the organizers provide?
And what is demanded from the insurance, that I must present?

Pardon my Anglishky

Entry is often dependant on having completed qualifying rides with a recognised
cycling association, if you are going that route then the association you go
through should be able to provide the information you require.

[in-sewer-ants stuff]

Not being an /ancien/ moi-meme, I may not be 100% correct on this, but as I
understand it, normal holiday insurance fits the bill.

The sixth student said, "I ride my bicycle because I want people
to look up to me and say 'Wow! He looks really good up there!'
The teacher replied: 'Go away, Fabrizio!'"

You need to ensure it will cover you while cycling.
