integrated fork with non integrated headset?

Your LBS is correct. It will work fine. From the fork perspective, integrated is an aesthetic thing, and not functional. The fork you have just won't look as "integrated", and you would likely see the shoulders of the fork crown a bit, which are a bit flatter and broader on the integrated one. I might suggest that on a bicycle with a $3500 frame that it ought to look perfect and waiting for a new fork should be a much shorter wait than was the wait for the frame.
