  1. As usual I have the problem of the week. A bit dizzy at
time, Especially if I try to rise.

I recently discontinued Epgon. First Mona checked on a
refill and the quote was over $1200. $120 a week.

We decided to go in for a hemoglobin check. It was normal
still ,so forget the epgon. Thanks god.

So the doc agrees it is orthostatic hypotension and not a
    lot we can do.

It is probably due to nerve damage from high blood
    glucose levels.

Now if I could have had the knowledge years ago so I could
    avoid some of these things.

You do not have any excuse. Today some of us warn you. If
you keep chasing weird ideas that do not make sense and
going on ego trips instead of learning, you will reap the
results. You have no excuse. You have tons of real info
available. Something we did not have in the past. Guy

I was just talkin about this in my post to Randy. I think
this is what my doc called it.

I get dizzy easly too! But mine can occure from sudden
movement of any kind. I have come close to fainting a
    few times.

Guy I have been dx for 3 years now and my doc's all think I
have had diabetes for about 10 years before that.

I do know that it was mentioned about 14 years ago in
passing when I had a physical and I didm't think much of it
    at the time.

Glad to here that you're not having to take EPO. I haven't
been keeping up with you, so did your Dr. run an
erithropoetin level on you before prescribing it? I'm on
    60,000 units/week, which give me a little more marign--HGs
in the mid 8s instead of the mid 7s (under 7 and its the
    vampire special for me).

Bobby I had three complete physicals in the year (1976)
before I was diagnosed. No problem.I was very tired. I
finally decided it was the job and decided to move on to a
lower level job. Quit and setup a new job. On the physical I
found sugar in the urine. Almost screwed up the job. No
insurance, no job, But managed to work it out.

The more people I have contact with, the more confused I
become on the diabetes game. To put it this way. What the
    hell is going on.

In any case we must learn to deal with it. We have several
people that have had "Type1" for over 30 years or 40 years.
I try to put together a story from their posts.

The most stressful time is in the early years. The "life is
over" syndrome hits. One reason we see some of the conflict.
People get defensive. It is better to "bite the bullet" and
learn all you can. I am still doing that. Guy

I had a physical for a new job and the doc said in a not a
bid deal voice that I had a touch of sugar.

Because of my job (a OTR driver) my reqular doc suggested I
just watch my diet. Nothing else was prescribed.

I hear you, thats what so good about these groups and the
e-mail lists. The exchange of ideas and support.

Me I try too, but then most of this stuff is way over my
head. I get depressed but then I guess we all do at time
    with theis damed condition.

I enjoy your post, don't always understand them, like I said
    I am dense at times.
