Greetings. Welcome aboard.
thank you 🙂

That's Rhode Island, correct? How's the weather treating you?
It is Rhode Island, and the weather has been great. No frost, yet, though it's coming soon, I'm
sure. The trees are beginning to turn color and the days are noticeably shorter.
I'll be crabbin' about the weather soon enough, when the cold/snow/sleet/freezing rain/ yuck stuff
comes, but I'm gonna enjoy what we've got while it lasts 🙂

discovered trekking poles, or Nordic Walking, and I got really hooked.
I walk daily on trails here in town at an old monastery. I do between
2.5 and 5 miles a day, depending on the day.
Is that distance covered using the trekking poles?
Sometimes, yes, and sometimes, no. I recently had some surgery so I can't use the poles right now.
I'm under my own unaided power.

I believe we're all in the same boat. Walking moderate distances day in day out can turn into a
rather arduous slog at times, depending on the circumstances. But it still feels great nonetheless.
It does. The results are pretty nifty as well 🙂

in the woods and side roads in my area.
I miss it when I don't go, now.
That's what I like to hear! ;-)
Heh - I think I've been converted!
Thanks for the welcome.
