Is it safe to ride around Warrandyte on Saturday morning?

I usually go to Warrandyte to do a longer ride on Sundays. I've been recently thinking of doing intervals on Kangaroo Ground Warrandyte Rd on Saturday. Would it be safe to do a ride on that day without too many cars?

Hey TR, I ride around Warrandyte just about every Sunday and Thursday morning, usually from Warrandyte to St Andrews then Diamond Creek and back via Eltham, or to Kinglake and back to W'Dyte. Have ridden the same rides on various days of the week and weekends for about 5 years. Never had any real issues re safety, the odd peanut who doesn't look when entering from cross roads etc. Weekends are fine, weekdays need to be a bit careful of 4X4 people running late to drop kids off at school. Having said that, my ride buddy got skitled in Eltham on a Saturday morning in January when out by himself. I must admit I will always avoid riding in those areas if its raining. Slippery hills and poor visibility on windy hilly roads is not a good mix.
