Not worth it in terms of performance. If the ultegra breaks or wears out, then the upgrade makes more sense. The DA cassette does weigh less, but it is way more expensive.

It ain't what you pay, it's what it costs. The cost is even higher than the purchase price, because the D-A Titanium cogs wear out much faster.

I ride Campy Record and switching from a standard 39-53 crankset to a compact 34-50 crankset, both had 12-25 cassettes, was worth every penny in better climbing performance. And it only increased cadence by a few rpm at 40mph. If I had a Shimano compact, I theorize I would do better with their 12-27. Climbing is where the biggest gains can be made and the experts say all riders should generally not drop below 70rpm cadence in a climb, or performance really starts dropping off. If you don't get there, you don't need lower gearing.

  5. Yes, go ahead with the upgrade and I will gladly take all that old Ultegra 10 stuff off your hands for 50 bucks......
