That's much too difficult a concept for a simpleton, Darsh. Let them "think" they are for real, that
ought to make them feel good about their bmx.

I don't have mountains but I have a Mountain bike. I don't do Downhill.... but I like riding
downhill. Come to think of it, I like riding uphill too. I don't do Drops but I like riding off
stuff. I don't race but I like coming in first......... Do I belong here?

I'm so confused.

I think I need a ride................

I'm beginning to get the picture. G.T. is a purist. Don't take this as advice but I wouldn't put
such solid boundaries on alt.amb....of course that's just my opinion. <===whatever that means.

Always interested here.

Like I said in another post I believe mountain biking was "invented" by racing "downhill" on a
modified cruiser.

Can we argue about the definition of "mountain" now?!?!? Its always bothered me that people point to
"hills" all over the bay area and call them "mountains". Mt Diablo, Mt Tam, blah blah blah. I love
the bay area after growing up in the shadow of Mt. Whitney its hard to be impressed with the
towering heights of Mt. Diablo.

Guess I'll have to call myself a "hill-biker" now.

You can see the second greatest amount of the Earth's surface from the top of Mount Diablo.
Kilimanjaro is #1.

After visiting the East coast and seeing the tired rounded humps that pass for some of the mountains
back there Diablo, with its steep North flank, looks positively Everest-like.

Of course, if you lived in Holland the only hills would be dikes. You'd be a dike-biker.

Sorry. It HAD to be done. ;)

Disco ********. That may have been the invention of "racing", but the dudes on Mt Wilson beat them
to it as well as the Crested Butte crew.

Yes, I have tons helpful to say and discuss about MOUNTAIN bikes, MOUNTAIN biking, and all matters
pertaining to said riding of MOUNTAIN bikes in the MOUNTAINS.

Now be a good boy and go play with the kids in alt.bmx.
