- At least Marion Jones was man enough to admit.....
Oct. 10 (Bloomberg) -- Cyclist Floyd Landis said he will appeal the split-decision ruling to uphold findings that he used synthetic testosterone in winning the 2006 Tour de France.
Landis, who with the Sept. 20 ruling became the first rider stripped of his title in cycling's most prestigious race, will appeal the decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, known as CAS, the 31-year-old said in a news release posted on his Web site.
CAS, based in Lausanne, Switzerland, has been the highest ruling body in sports disputes since 1984. It handles about 200 cases each year, using about 300 arbitrators from 87 countries.
``Knowing that the accusations against me are simply wrong, and having risked all my energy and resources -- including those of my family, friends and supporters -- to show clearly that I won the 2006 Tour de France fair and square, I will continue to fight for what I know is right,'' Landis said.
