    Hi everyone.

    The bike upgrade for the old roadbike continues. The beast is a '04 Cannondale R400, used to be mine, but is getting an overhaul so the wife can ride with me and I can have a back up steed while my ride is in the shop.

    Anyway, I want to upgrade the crank from the stock TruVatiV Touro A1 to a FSA carbon triple. The FSA is ISIS splined and I'm pretty sure that's not going to match up the the "shimano 4-taper" BB that's currently on the ride.

    So I called Cannondale and the BB demensions are 68x113. The problem is I can't seem to find a FSA BB in those demensions. SO will any ISIS BB work or do I have to stick with FSA? My guess is any ISIS will work, but before I spend the cash, I want to make sure.

    EDIT: From FSA's website "ISIS Drive only (118mm)". Is this the only length where this crank will work? Am I missing something?

    Bottom brackets have three key dimensions:

    The first is shell width that has to match your bike's frame. In your case it's 68mm. That also indicates that it's English threaded.
    The second is the spindle length that is mostly determined by the crank. In your case it's 118mm.
    The final is the interface (ISIS) which also has to match the crank.

    You need a 68 X 118 ISIS bottom bracket.
