I need one over a 36" rangetop. I was looking at athe Best
and also the Vent-a-Hood. Both 900 cfm with internal
blowers. My old Broan is very noisy and I'm leery of
another. Is 10.5 sones loud? The distributor had a Best set
up but no power to it. I want one fairly plain, but I do
like the halogen lights. BT

I've been looking at range hoods, too. 10.5 is loud, but
may be typical of 900 cfm unless you get a fan external to
the house.I'm leaning toward a Broan Allure III. It runs at 0.4 sone
at normal speed (250 cfm) but is louder (7 sones) at the
"turbo" speed (400 cfm). I like the quietness and the delayed-
turn off feature.I just have to find someone to install it!
