Hi everybody, I'm an Italian cyclist, so first of all sorry for my poor english.
I love to read posts in this forum but sometimes I miss some terms. Could you help me?
If you are interested I could tell you the Italian cycling jergon.
For example:
- When you pedal not seat in saddle , what you say? Standing on pedals ?
In italian we say "sui pedali" o "fuori sella"
- The correct name for stationary trainer is ? Turbo trainer ?
we say "rulli"
When somebody in a race go away from the pack , what is the correct word?
we say " fuga" , "andare in fuga" (escape).
I hope this is not a boring post, I notice that in USA, GRANFONDO events are growing, and they use a lot of Italian terms , and calls to Italian cycling tradition and also food, wine and other.
What do you think about Granfondo events?
thanks
Davide
