It's shared-use Jim, but not as we know it

Is that a Waitrose store??

Our local store have removed all bike parking facilities. Seems bike
users aren't posh enough to use their store

No, it's an invitation to take the bike into the store. And if you use
the scan and pay system, you can load the stuff straight into your
panniers as you shop.

That's the ONLY sensible explanation.

Yes it is Waitrose, in Newmarket. The three Sheffield stands are
frequently full and there are more bikes locked to lamp-posts and so on.
Yesterday there was a *very* flash single-speed mountain/BMX bike with
Hope hydraulics etc next to my 'bent. It probably cost more than half
the cars in the car-park!

You get a better class of cyclist at Waitrose.

I don't know - last time I locked my bike outside a Cambridge Tesco
it was next to an unflash mountain bike with a Rohloff hub, which
I think outclasses a flash single-speed.

(Crossing threads with someone asking "who rides a fully rigid
mountain bike anymore?", Kinetics are currently doing a special
offer of a Rohloff on an On-One Inbred:
http://www.kinetics.org.uk/html/gbp999_bike_offer.shtml )
