i've a another question bout cranks

these days there are about 6 different bottom bracket standards and a million bolt patterns thanks to the people at Shimano changing their design every 2 weeks

at the moment there is

Octalink, ISIS, Square Taper, the new Shimano integrated BB/crank and god knows what else

so the short answer is that no, you can't just slap any crankset on any bike,

cranks also come in different lengths from about 165-185mm and you need one which is the right size for you

if you provide a little ore info we can probably help out with some specific advice

Well, you probably can,but the BB has to match the crank, and they BOTH go on the bike. Chainring Bolt patterns don't matter.

No that hard. Just buy ISIS. Forget the Shimano.

Buy an ISIS crank and then you can buy many other BB out there.

Or where you buy the crank, buy the ISIS BB as well.

ISIS bb with a 175mm crank is probably the most common setup most good quality bike
