Jackass Racing Myths

T

1) That a Cat 4 or 5 should buy special racing equipment instead of
learning how to race. Or that there's no harm in buying special
equipment WHILE learning how to race.

2) That TT performance would be enhanced with aero equipment before the
racer knows how to TT consistently.

3) That special gearing, special wheels or special light bikes are
necessary for beginners.

Anyone that tries to pass off any of these myths on you is selling you
a bill of goods or has himself been sold a bill of goods. I have a C40
with all carbon parts on it with seat pack, pump and water bottles it
weighs in less than one pound lighter than my steel Basso Loto in like
setup. Both have Campy Chorus components except for FSA barbon cranks.

No harm in enjoying the C40. On the other hand, someone else's dust
TASTES better when you're riding a Huffy. Not sure why that is, but
it's true. Trust me, I've studied the matter extensively.

I like these myths. Kinda like the helmet thing. It's called separating
the herd.

Obviously you bought into the myth that Chorus is "good enough." The
problem of course is that you must have Record to get maximum
performance. Jeesh.

I thought the object was to make them eat your dust.

Also, do note that the dust generated by a carbon fiber C40 may be
toxic. So, making them eat your expensive Colnago dust might be
insulting -and- injurious. However, I'm sure carbon fiber-expert Tom
Kunich can tell us if in fact this is the case, and the precise speed
one needs to go to have a C40 slough off fibers.

Really? Oh ****.

Actually *your* answer to that question was that it would not improve
his speed to use aero equipment in a flat TT... and that answer makes
no sense. No one suggested that he *needed* better equipment.

Would that be a real Huffy, or a Serotta with Huffy labels?

Doesn't matter so long as you _think_ it's a real Huffy.

Or maybe it doesn't matter so long as _HE_ thinks it's a real Huffy.

I'm certain that perception is reality. Now I just need to figure out
whose perception that is. If I ever get my hands on that guy, boy does
HE have a thing or two coming.

The point was/is that it's hypocritical for you to give them any ****,
given your gratuitous bike possessions.

Now there's the non-sequitur of the day. I'd still appreciate it if you
would answer my question on the fundamentals of time trialing with and
without HRM. Thanks in advance.

Strawman.

As an aside I still exercise nearly every day. I just don't race.

thanks,

K. Gringioni.

I "exercise" nearly every day, too. Unless, of course, you meant with a
partner.

With the weeklong orgasm that is FRAAM going on right now, there is no
need for me to "exercise".

thanks,

K. Gringioni.

Well, I'd say that you're officially on the "enemies list" now, Andy. Not like
that's too hard, though.

If you wish to hire me to coach you I'd be happy to relate all sorts of
things to you. In that case you need only phone me up and make an
appointment and I'll have the contract ready when you come past.

Does this mean our CSO is now gay like the rest of the enemies.
