After 20 years my wife and i will buy new bikes.

The wife has succesfully convinced me not to buy $70.00 K-Mart
specials, and I am now considering the Jamis Cross country 2.0

This bike fits my riding style, but i would value the groupos opinion
on quality, value and alternatives. Also, is there a ladies version
    with same look and feel?

    Thanks in advance

Hurrah! You can never have too many bikes, and new bikes are /always/
    faster ;-)

    Smart woman :)

No opinion on the Jamis (other than: go to the LBS, try lots of bikes
and buy the one that fist best) - but don't get too hung up on the
business of trying to find one for the missus which is the same style.
Or indeed a ladies' frame. It's not certain that both of you need the
same frame geometry, so if you both buy the bike that fits best it's
quite likely they will be entirely different bikes; many women find
that modern sloping tube MTBs are perfectly acceptable without going
    for a mixte frame.

Hey, wait - have you considered a tandem?

May you have another twenty years of blissful cycling on your new
    mounts :)
