A blurb on VeloNews that falls into the man bites dog cagegory:

"Jan Ullrich's team sponsor T-Mobile was left red-faced after
forgetting to pay their star cyclist's telephone bill, resulting in
his line being cut."

My best friend had a similar mix-up happen to him, although Ullrich's
is much more public of course. My friend wound up writing a long
letter to the president of the company, and his service was eventually
cancelled and his $200 contract-termination fee was waived.

I also have a T-Mobile phone, and I have the bizarre problem of my
voice mail being a loop of piano music and not the computerized
message I'm pretty sure I set up. I will keep the phone for now but I
will not be renewing once the year is up...

Whatever you have, it's not as bad as Vodafone. Strike that one from your
list of options.

Verizon is actually the local phone company here, and if I had talked
it over with my parents first I certainly would have bought a phone
from Verizon rather than going by trade-team allegiance.

Which is a somewhat unhappy result of "supporting the sponsor" of you
favorite team/event/player/etc.
