Yup Guilty on all counts. But you have no one.. ever wonder why?
That description was about me you fool! Nice try.
Bauer Right, Ed A.....WRONG If Bauer is right then you are wrong becuase you made it very clear you think the heyday of Canadian cyclng is gone like hockey. You are now saying the opposite. No surpirse.
Not discounting, just saying it is no longer PRIMARY.. there are many other disciplines sharing the limelight. misread/misunderstood/misconstrued that point , eh?
What "limelight" Thanks to thes eother "disciplines" there is no limelight
Not an Opportunist (that's your spin). The CCA was presented with the plan. All they had to do was rubber stamp it. Lang & associates put it all together. Again very incorrect. Canadian Tire and C. Lang did not want to do the Canada Cups. The CCA made them part of the deal. You are simply unaware of what transpired.
See above
Whatever. At least we agree here. You have nothign to say except contradicting me.
If you are the god of cycling in Canada, as you seem to claim.. why don't you wave your magic wand and make IT all happen? Whatever IT is.....
There is a lot of ground between being a "God" of cyclng and being completely unknowledgeable and inexperienced about the sport as is Lorraine Lafreniere now running the CCA. I never claim to be a "God", on the other hand I have about 34 years more experience in the sprot than Lafreniere. She is still learning how it works while she is killing it.
Enlighten and amuse us. I find gear slippage and compact chainrings and deciding whether to change your avatar to be boring and you do not see me joining in those threads.
Family, jobs, pets, a fantastic woman (Operating Room Nurse who is on call this weekend), interests, hobbies and pastimes, even got in an hour and a half ride this afternoon.
Oh Ed, your poor ego works so hard. Who cares that you have a girlfriend who is an Operating Room nurse? Last time you labeled her as an ER nurse, but again, who cares? Do you think a nurse is higher up the social ladder? As a nurse she probably has a two year diploma and she works at a job where everyone else tells her what to do, not much to brag about. I don't understand why you hang your hat on this. And to put in a claim of riding...ha, ha, ha. You fat ass, you need to get out more then that! Isn't it embarassing calling yourself a cyclist and being that fat? It's a good thing that you come from the day when all you had to do was train a few minutes here and there. Racers today train 3-5 hours 6 days a week and every month of the year. You have to be thankful for coming from a time when you only needed a bit of talent and no real work ethic. Look at where you are in life; it speaks clearly of no work ethic. No success, always getting fired. How come you can't find a women who will make the committment of mairrage? I guess they always want that quick out when things go sour. Poor, poor Ed.

No, I said I lost a child to suicide and I thought the remark was in extremely poor taste. It goes beyond personal insult when you mock someone losing a loved one, and after I point out this, you don't even apologize.

It figures you would want me banned, what's new. You're a jackass, Uboat.
Apparently I'm not the only one who figured that out.....
Do they? That was supposed to be so early 90's or earlier. Not that I'm trying to defend Ed...I don't want to defend anyone who talks down on me.
Absolutely. Depends on the time of the year, but there is a big chunk where you are primarily building the aerobic engine. I coach several riders who compete nationally and they do big hours for most of the year. Currently, with cross season they are doing shorter hours with more intensity.
But all this is an aside from Ed not knowing anything.
Gee, I seem to remember when I rode for the Quebec Provincial Team Eric Van den Eynde would take on on six hour rides in the morning and then bring us to Lachine for speed work in the evening.
During my three stays at the US Olympic Tranining Center in Colorado Springs, as part of the US Olympic Development Team I remember doing five or six hour death marches with the last hour bascially a full on race back to the OTC with 50 or 60 guys dropping flie flies it was so hard.
With Evian I can remember even as a coach riding with my guys from the Foothills of northwestern Tucson around to Mt. Lemmon (24 mile climb) and back, seven hours usually on a good day. As for Uboat, you can say anything you like none of it has to be true. For all we know you never even had a son or daughter. You could be 12 years old for all we know. Nothing can be personal if you have no name.
You are a true [censored] sociopathic [censored], Arzouian. How dare you belittle me mention the loss of my child. I don't use my real name here because you stalk and harass anyone who disagrees with you. You don't use your real name here because you have been banned everywhere, including here. I guess Fausto is not real, either.
You're the sickest person I've ever come across.

Uboat, there is no proof of me stalking anybody, anywhere ever.
There is no proof of harassment either. Disagreeing with someone or proving them incorrect or foolish is not harrassment. Check the definition. If you or anybody cannot come here and prove their points, that's not my fault.
I think you are a coward, like most people on most web sites who claim to be in the know and refuse to acknowledge who they are.
I know a guy whose grandmother died every time he ned to change an airline reservation. That old lady died at least four or five times a year.
If you have such a problem with suicide get professional psychiatric help instead of ranting about it on a cycling forum.

Well...even I know that you could behave little bit better. Calling people coward, idiot, incompetent, etc. isn't really good behaviour even if it's online?
I would say that if you have such a problem with current state of canadian cycling then do something as you, according to your own words, are pretty much the best person to lift it up from the ditch it's lying at the moment. If you just want to rant because you were kicked out the CCA express gravy train you can do that as long as you want but don't expect people to take you seriously. 80's and 90's are behind us.

Completely off topic. That's what my ex-coach kept telling me. That's just outdated method and isn't the best way to build aerobic engine. Endurance rides have their place but they are more like once a week stuff. More endurance rides will just hinder ones ability to recover and that's not a good thing.

Again, half truths and ommissions. You stated that you would show up at a training camp after having no training and drop the best women. Are you still saying that? What I am saying is that you never trained hard enough to compete with the current crop of juniors at a national level. What was fast back then is not fast now. But live in your glory days. You're the kind of guy who can't evolve, which is why you are obsolete and can't succeed at anything today.

Last time I ran a race was not 1990s but 2003.
I have a long list of suggestion that anybody at the CCA can act on.

What half-truths?
What ommissions?
You are correct in the middle of winter, coming from sea level to 6000 ft. as a Senior I, I could drop all the women at the US Olympic training camp. Any one of the 50 to 60 guys there could.
What was fast back then was Steve Bauer, Davis Phinney, Hugh Walton, Greg LeMond et al and that who I raced against in the Pro-Am SeniorI & II races. We raced against Bauer's La Vie Claire Team in a Toronto Stage race once in '86 or '87.

Well, what is currently done is periodization. Riding a long ride once a week is not periodization. All the energy systems work off of having a strong aerobic system and you need to do the rides to have this. I coach some athletes that have had great success at a national level and I know that what I do works.
I still believe that this thread is to poke at Ed. If you want to talk about programs we could do it on another thread.
