John, who says he donates time to "The Collective" for fun, is also a
MTBer and tried to get me to consider going MTBing with him.
www.derailerbicyclecollective.org

I asked him where he goes/frequents, he named all the trails I favor,
but he didn't mention Dakota Ridge or Mathew Winters Park (heh heh
heh).

I fully knowing this guy was sent to try to get me invovled in
Cho/Strong circles, figured the best way to learn from him is to
conversate with him. So I talked to him about MTBing, and I asked him
about mean technical stuff (he said he biked all around the world and
the U.S.), and he said mean technical stuff is on the western slope,
and he infatuatingly said Golden Gate State Park is very technical
(mountain lion trail), yet on the web it says it's only moderate.

So I was freaked out because I don't want to ride all the way to Golden
Gate State Park, and ride some mean stuff that threatens to cause
injury, and have 15 miles to ride back if injured.

And when John was telling me about the trails, he was all happy &
vibrant and glad I asked him of which we could talk about the trails,
but then, THEN, I mentioned Dakota Ridge, his smile on his face went to
a lifeless frown (not what I expected following his immediate previous
joy), lol, he changed his tone to a real low fear subtlety and said
"That is some of the meanest technical I have ever experienced", I was
shocked by the drastic change of his demeanor.

Then I asked "Is Golden Gate as difficult", he responded right away
"no, definitely not". I'm wondering if he got injured up there and
didn't want to tell me.

LOL.
