For those of you that speak Italian check it out here:

http://www.gazzetta.it/Ciclismo/Primo Piano/2005/01-Gennaio/18/processoferrari.shtml

It is a blurb on the reasons provided by the judge in passing the guilty verdict on Ferrari sport fraud and illegally acting as a pharmacist (requesting one year of jail and the suspension of his license as a medical doctor for a year).

The judge considers Simeoni's confession of using, under Ferrari's guidance, EPO and Andriol (testosterone) as credible and not in any way damaged by the statements made by other witnesses called to testify (including Chiappucci and Bortolami, who apparently contradicted their earlier testimony to investigating police in 1998). The accusations were apparently also strongly supported by an analysis of the training logs for Kappes (German 6 day rider), Olivier (Swiss triathelete) and Gotti (Giro d'Italia winner) and Furlan, through which prescriptions of doping products were noted.

The full text is actually a blistering attack on Ferrari and his professional ethics, as he was actually trained through the Italian Olympic Federation.

Ferrari will appeal.

Apologies for my sloppy translation, I thought you would like some info before it comes out on the English websites tomorrow!
