Just bought this, is it an ok beginner equipment?

Tranz x is a bit lacking in bling value, and is priced accordingly. Usually not the lightest gear around either. But I've used some(although not this item) and hadn't had any trouble.
But aerobars are generally only used on TT/tri bikes, and not on your general road bike. They're often not allowed if you want to join in group rides for instance. I shudder everytime I see one being used along my commute route.
