What is the most expensive bike you have seen from a store. I'm not talking about how much Lance Armstrong's last bike was. I'm talking about a price that you have physically seen . Haha this question is just out of pure curiosity.

They had a $16,000 Specialized road bike on display at the LBS a couple of years ago.

Most of the larger cycling stores in western Europe have bikes in the €10,000+ range. I'm not sure if these are factory bikes or custom built. I don't recall seeing one with a higher price though.

Most shops only keep a limited number of bikes on hand. Most people who buy 5 figure bikes order them through the shop. The difference between a $5000 bike and a $10,000 bike may be limited to components, and the frames may well be identical, so people will test ride a frame in stock, and order the bike equipped with the components that they want.
