from now on I am only using those SRAM connector devices that negate the need for inserting a pin.....and you can take the chain on and off for cleaning.

Yup, I find them pretty good, which is why I suggested them in the first place. To be fair, some people have had bad experiences with them. I have not in the last 7000km of riding but I am not heavy.

Once you have the knack of using the pins I will admit they are pretty easy. Just not as easy as the connectors.
