I would have said nothing if they would have done there job.
But anyway the courts will decide the issue.
I was walking along in the library minding my own business when two thugs jumped out of the shadows and started berating me for no valid reason. After trying to reason with them, it became obvious that I was in physical danger, so I begged for the librarians to do something. They explained that there was nothing they could do about what someone was telling me, and that my response should be something about sticks and stones... So I decided I would take my frustration with the thugs out on the librarians by proclaiming their worthlessness, and telling them that I pay their salary. I have always before been able to berate people and get what I wanted... Who are these idiots for not responding appropriately to my control technique? They then took care of something that was within their power... They dealt with a person who was harrassing a civil servant. I can't go to the library any more. I then calmly discussed the issue with the supervisor, the manager and on up the chain until it was obvious that they were conspiring against me because I ride a bicycle. (I am assuming this had something to do with it, only because we are on cyclingforums.com)
Wow! You exhausted all reasonable ways to resolve the issue already. You are one go-getter!!!!!!
NOT!
If you have indeed filed a lawsuit or contacted a lawyer already, I think the library workers that pegged you as a trouble maker may have been right!
Of course, I realize I will probably have to hire an attorney for the impending defamation lawsuit from saying this...
If you ever hear or read a similar story, please tell me if it is believable to you...
BTW - A librarian's job is to catalog books, provide advice, assist with research etc... Admittedly as an auxilliary task, they could be seen as needing to keep the library quiet. Did they ask you to leave before you called them names? If so, they were doing their job by asking you to take your argument outside. They are not judges to determine who is in the right in a confrontation, their job is to remove the distraction (you and the bullies in this case) from disturbing the other patrons. If you had left, the bullies would have been quiet as well.
