Klein Palomino

Hi,
I am mountainbiker from the Netherland and riding a Klein Palomino.
This bike rides like no other bike and am very happy with it.
Only problem I have is that I try to service the bike myselve and that
there is no clear drawing and/or instructions of the link-piece and its
main pivots. Are there any replacement kits for these bearings available?

Further my rearshok has to be cleaned every 500 km else it will lose
pressure. Is this some thing anyone else also experiences and what can be
done
about it?

Regards Anton

You are supposed to cleans and grease Fox shocks at ridiculously short
intervals. Few people do, and they still work all right.

Probably, but the bearings need to be pressed into the monolink.

One alternative is to purchase a second monolink ($200 US) and send
the original in to Maverick for bearing replacement - or just not purchase a
replacement and do it during the winter.

Whatever you do, the tricky part is replacement of those two bolts that join the
monolink to the frame. The metal they are made out of is quite soft and they
are not shoulder bolts - so you cannot just tap them into place to align the
parts. I have a 7mm steel bolt that I cut the threaded part off of and
tapered a little bit. I tap that into place to align the parts and then slide
the sus bolts into place.

I've got close to 5,000 miles on mine and haven't touched it.

Now that I've said that, it'll probably blow a seal tomorrow....-)
