Is it my imagination or are many of the riders in
this year's TdF riding with an exaggerated knock-knee
style? I've been bought up to believe that your
ankle, knee and hip should move in a nearly vertical
plane (in line with the pedals and cranks) to maximize
efficiency are reduce sideways forces on your knees.
The riders seem to through their knees over the top
tube on each pedal stroke.
Examples:

Menchov http://tinyurl.com/yuuqhu
There are others but I can't find them at the moment....
DeF.
PS Apologies for posting about Le Tour without mentioning
doping - buggar, I just did.
