Kryptonite Locks

I tried opening my old Kryptonite circa 1988 with a Bic pen barrel for
quite awhile. Wouldn't work. I'll try again, but doubtful if I would
ever trust it again, even if I can't open it myself.

The doors open for anybody that can manufacture a decent lock, that's
for sure.

On one of the cyling forums I frequent (http://www.bikeforums.net) the
topic
came up recently about being able to open kryptonite locks with the
shaft of a
generic Bic pen (with the nib and ink removed). You know the regular
old white
ones. Well, I was a little skeptical at first but after the thread
reached 100
replies I decided to try it. And I was able to open my lock.
Multiple times.
I can do it now in less than 10 seconds. I did it on my Mini and also
my NYC
lock. Some others posted about being able to do it on the Kryptoloks
and some

I called kryptonite 1.800.729.5625 (option 3). The woman was
extremely nice and
said they will call me back, hopefully this afternoon. I'll let you
know what I
hear.

I was really surprised how easy it was to do. And the pen doesn't
damage your
lock. I can reopen, no sweat, with the key.

I don't know what else to say but just be careful, maybe use multiple
locks, or
lock it as low to the ground as you can.
