Ladies Saddle Advice

Only your backside can make the call.

Do you have a 133 MM wide bubble butt or a 155 MM more Rubenesque rear? There's a pretty decent width difference between the two. You might want to compare to the saddle you are currently riding and how comfortable it is or isn't.

LOL - love it, think i'm more of a ruben-esque butt!

Will check the width on my own and then decide.
Thanks,

T

When we were a Specialized dealer, their Lithia saddle (available in three widths) satisfied many customers.

A decent bike shop will let you try a few seats, if they dont find another that will. Also, once you find a good seat, it'll move with you from bike to bike as you upgrade them. /img/vbsmilies/smilies/smile.gif

Keep in mind though that the width that matters is the distance between the sit bones, not the wraparound width incl. the padding.

I can ride just fine on a skinny saddle despite being fairly wide across the hips and butt.
For me, it's muscles from years of skating and DH skiing that's masking a fairly narrow pelvis.

It took a while before the coin dropped, but it ties in nicely with the way the inside seam of my pants wear out.

I do things like Tour De Connamara, Burren etc, (140/150km distance sportif) not looking at racing so don't want to spend a fortune. Any thoughts?

Tara,

A decent gel saddle will sort out any soreness that you experience. Plenty of good cycling shops throughout the west/midwest region supply that type of saddle.
I should know I've spent enough cash in those same shops!/img/vbsmilies/smilies/smile.gif
