Then he's far from the only politician to see 9-11 in terms of politics. Though
it could be considered to be more crass to think of it terms of "My election was
disrupted." Or maybe not. "How can we use 9-11 for our gain" is pretty crass.

Rudy Giuliani briefly attempted to declare that he should
stay mayor beyond his two-term limit to provide stability in the
aftermath of September 11th. After a brief outcry, nearly
everybody decided this was a bad idea and he backed off.

A big reason that somebody would remember Mark Green's
posturing more so than Rudy's near-coup d'etat is that
Rudy has a reputation (for NY) as a stiff-backed guy who's a
little _too_ rigidly righteous if anything, while Mark Green
has the rep of an opportunist. The result may not be quite
fair, but it's not totally unfair, either; reputation is all in
politics.

Mark Green is at best a peripheral figure, and his wife
more so, I can't imagine that a long-past encounter with
her is actually that interesting, unless she dopes or
knows someone who was in LANCE's hospital room
or something.

Yeah, I remember that B.S.

Like Guiliani and Kerik really had anything to hang their hat on during
9-11. Hundreds of firemen and police were killed on their watch, in
large part because their communications systems failed and because they
had no plan to fight fires in high-rises (in New York, who wudda thunk?)

They had no rooftop evacuation plan in a city of endless skyscrapers.

Guiliani and Kerik are two colossal government frauds. They cheat on
their wives, and they are corrupt to the core. They take credit for
things they didn't have anything to do with or didn't even happen. And
now the Gool himself thinks he's qualified to be President just because
3,000 people were liquified.

Eff Gooliani.

And Bush wanted Kerik as head of Homeland Security. That's so laughable... What's
worse is that the Bush admin. either didn't find any of the stuff that turned into
scandals for him or they didn't think that stuff was important.
