Maat 50 of maat 53? Liever te klein of liever te groot? Hier vind je de framematen:

IMO, because the MERIDA is a compact frame with a sloping top tube, your choice is mostly cosmetic; but, your fitness level is also a factor.

For the "average" rider, the 53cm is probably the better choice if you are 175cm (or, a little taller) because the stem/handlebars will be a little higher ... sight unseen, I would guess that if you get the 53cm frame that you will then probably want a 110mm stem; but, different handlebars have a different reach & drop so, that it really depends on your other body measurements.

If you are closer to 170cm tall (or, shorter), then you should probably choose the 50cm frame.

While a key factor in proper frame fit is to choose a frame based on the length of the top tube (real, or virtual), I have had frames over the years with top tubes whose length varied between 52cm & 57cm -- the shorter frame required a longer stem (130mm), and I used a shorter stem (90mm) on the longer frames. The "cockpit" is essentially the same -- the 1cm difference in length was accommodated by handlebar reach + location of the brake levers on the handlebars AND the width of the handlebars ...

So, the (arbitrary) distance from the rear of the saddle to the rear of the "horns" on the brake levers is almost the same in all cases.

Inseam is only one consideration and, arguably, less important than the rest of your proportions.
Roger that. If you can straddle both sizes comfortably, you should be looking at top tube and head tube length. Top tube length correlates directly to your horizontal reach and head tube length correlates inversely to your vertical reach (how low you can set your handlebar).
