There comes a Tide in the Times of Men (and Women too)........

Trite but True. So Ila's gonna retire from the Lists (no pun intended)
and head back to Roosha to see how the Old LocoSphinx team is coping
with the WADA manifesto.

So she made a valedictory lap of the town today to see where she could
get the best deal on packing up her MTB, Road Bike and Trackie (All
Steel)

There's all kinds of interesting Bike Shops scattered around the
city. One called Bicycle Specialties is easily mistaken for a
Museum. There's a Gino type Legnano equipped with the first Campag
derailleur, the one with the two levers on the chain stays and the
elongated rear dropouts. And a similar Fausto type Bianchi although the
derailleur seemed from a coupla years later then that on the
Legnano. Then there's a French job from the early 50's replete with what
modern day cyclists would recognize as a derailleur and a front changer
with the lever mounted on the seat tube and one of those useless
nitrogen pumps mounted up high on the back of the seat tube.

And there's scads of other memorabilia spanning 100 years or more up to
the 2004 Athens jerseys of both Micheal Barry and Dede (Desmet) Barry
which isn't really surprising since the owner is Mike Barry who is
Micheal Barry's dad and Dede's father in law.

Interesting.............
