All -
For assembling a fixed / free bike, I'm in need of a
laterally-adjustable BB. The spindle must be of the square-taper
variety.
I know Phil Wood makes them, but those are a bit too pricey for me.
Are there any other products available (from such places as Bike Tools
Etc.)?
Here's the current setup:
shell width: 68mm
threads: English
spindle: Sugino MT-68 (double)
crank: Sugino Mity-Tour (ancient school)
The amount of adjustment I need is ~2 - 4 mm, to the outboard side, to
mate up with the fixed cog. I haven't tried it yet with the freewheel
side yet (I figure that's not as critical)
I don't have enough thread available on the adjustable cup to consider
using a fixed cup spacer -- there's less than 1mm of free thread
showing beyond the lockring (got that?). Using only 1 1mm spacer
won't be sufficient for my needs.
Thanks!
Phil
