You will need a seal press to put the new seals in but other than that it is pretty easy. What you
could do is take it all apart, pop out the old seals and just get a shop to pop in the new ones
which should only cost a few bucks, put it all back together yourself.

Yes. It uses the same seals as their other (similar) forks. No "special tool" is needed for the
negative cartridge in the left leg. You just undo the top cap (21mm socket) and the nut at the
bottom of the leg and the cartridge comes right out. Clean the oil from the outside of the cartridge
and wrap the body with an old innertube for grip and use a wrench to unscrew the hex cap from it.
The plunger/shaft will pull out and there is a hex bolt on the bottom that you can use a wrench on
to keep the shaft from turning while you unscrew the top cap. I remember you having trouble with
this earlier with this fork. But it's kind of like rebuilding a frame pump.

There is however, a special tool for seating the seal that you may need it cost only about $40US and
another for protecting the fork leg while you pry the old one out which costs about $15. Maybe your
LBS guy will let you borrow them for some beers. ;^) Or just take the lowers to him and have the
seals changed. You may want to change the bushings while you're in there.

I don't know if it's available in your part of the world but I used Bel-Ray 7wt motorcycle fork oil
in mine and it works great.

Coil/oil forks still have seals and still develop leaks from time to time so you wouldn't be gaining
anything. I have the Marathon manual on PDF if you want me to shoot it to you. It's 805KB.
