Looking at the form in the Amstel Gold and Fleche Wallone, I'm wondering who might win LBL

Quick recap of the Fleche saw Kessler, Valverde, Di Luca, Vino and Rebellin feature very strongly.

Amstel featured Di Luca, Rebellin, Valverde, Bettini, Schumacher - all featuring strongly.

Valverde won La Doyenne last year and judging by his form he will be in contention this year.
Di Luca's not far off winning one of the classsics this year.

Throw in Karsten Kroon, Sam Sanchez, Damiano Cunego, Paulo Bettini, and a number of other riders - it becomes a lottery as to who to select.

If I have to select someone to win - and subject to his starting - I will go for
    Matthias Kessler.

Hhhm. Tough one. Bettini has not been looking very good lately. Doesn't seem to have the legs of his best days...

I have to think about this one...

I'd have to go with Valverde. Can't see him missing out on all 3 Ardennes races.

Failing that, Cunego (just so that I'm naming someone that wasn't on the podium at Fleche).

Shot in the dark, but Popovych. I think disco will be under pressure to resurrect their appalling classics season so will launch a lot of attacks.

Since the database seems to have lost the previous "LBL picks" thread, I willl go for the same rider I picked in that one: Kessler.

    Ok then.

    Expected pick: Rebellin.

    Not expected pick: Cunego.

Well I think the answer was staring out from the podium all week, 3rd at the Amstel, 3rd at the Fleche, and DiLuca didn't look very happy on that bottom step. So he moved up a couple of notches, well done.

Me too. I chose DiLuca but typos made the name come out as Kessler. A simple mistake that could have happened to anyone.

'Twas kinda strange seeing Jens Voight shoot out the back when they lit it up on the run into Ans. Almost comforting in a way, he looked how I felt on the bike today - blown gaskett.

I watched LBL again last night on ES : great race.
Schleck, Bettini, Rebellin were all in contention at the end but Di Luca timed his jump well.
Valverde was going like a train at the end and managed to catch Schleck.

Have to say I was really impressed by Schumacher : he's a great prospect.

Almost comforting because Jens is clean and that's what happens sometimes.

Come to think of it Lim, quite an impressive spring campaign for Gerolsteiner...
