  1. A new straw that purifies water as it is drunk is hoped to be part of a
    solution to water-borne disease killing thousands in developing
    countries - but could also be useful for walkers in the UK.

    Does anyone know if they (or something similar) are on sale now in the
    UK? I couldn't find anything on the web.

    Well it'd better be easier to suck through than my mini-Katadyn is to pump
    through or else there's going to be a whole bunch of imploded faces in A&E depts
    around the country.
