Light & Motion Headlight Advice (HID? Another brand?)...

I am considering one of two lights right now, and for different reasons. One is the Light & Motion Commuter. I like this light because it has small side lighting which will help light up my Flight Deck computer. It's also cheaper than HID. The other is the Light & Motion ARC. I like this light because it is a HID light with a lithium ion battery. Unfortunately, it does not have the same side lighting and is a lot more expensive. Does anyone own these lights and can share their experience? Any comparable lights from other companies, I'd like to know about as well. I just figured the Light & Motion's had the smallest batts. Thanks!!

I am also in the market for some serious lights, and have stumbled across a series of rather positive (gushing?) reviews of the Lupine lighting systems. They are outrageously expensive, but appear to be worth the money.

Thanks Pete. I've seen those but the cost is nothing short of absolutely absurd. HID options on luxury cars are not much more and this is only a small single light. I would never spend that much. Thanks for the info though!

I have a Light & Motion ARC NiMH light set (cheaper of the two ARC systems.) It's terrific, one of the best investments I've made. I'm never going back to standard halogen lighting again.

I guess you should also be asking what people are using the lights for. I note that the commuter ligth only puts out 10 wats - which I would assume is fine for relatively well-lit urban - suburban areas. Where do u intend to ride? What kind of traffic are u facing?
