Important question is can NATO be replace with this new defence structure? America will strongly opposed losing its prima role…East Europeans will object changing American military blanket for pan European abstraction... 1939 Poland and Chechslovakia of WW2?

Agreed…but this mutual. Russia too huge for Europe. And inversely, Russia will never agree to lose own sovernity if joining EU. Impossible historically.

Generally speaking I think the EU treaty is bad for everyone in Europe because it will paralize Europe by inflexibility and complexity: it takes huge investment of time and energy to come up with one common difficult europolicies. Once in place, no one will want to face a similar round to change a rigid incorrect policy. Look in energy treatys with Russia…
