  1. Hello All -

I'm going to be doing my first triathlon at the end of July in Philadelphia.
    It's a sub-olympic length race, (1/2 mile swim, 17 mile bike, 4 mile run).
I've been training a bunch for it, and it seems to me that it's a lot of
training for just one event. So I'd like to follow it up with another one
afterwards. This leads to some questions.

    General:
When would be the ideal time to do a second race? I want to give my body
time to recover, but also want to take advantage of all the conditioning
    I've been doing.

    Specific:
What would be a good race? Preferably, I'd do an olympic distance one the
second time out. (My sense is that in a triathlon context, my maximum swim
distance would be 1 mile, and running around 8 miles; biking is my strong
suit so I'm not worried about distance there).
I'm not going to fly to go to any, but would be willing to drive a half-day
or so (the less driving the better) and stay overnight. Starting point is
Philadelphia. And, obviously, it would have to be something that isn't
    already full.

    Thanks!

I think one week is too short for me (and probably you if this is your
first one) but two weeks should be fine.

I live in PA, as well, and am going to sign up for that one. But there
are also a lot in delaware, etc. Check there and MD for ones that are
    close.
