Loose Spoke

I have a pair of kind-of-junk wheels that I train on. Whenever I ride,
one spoke (the same one) rattles loose. I noticed that there was no
spoke prep on the threads, so I put some on there; didn't solve the
problem. Any ideas? I'm afraid to put loctite on because it might
leave the wheel un-truable.

Blue Loctite is not that strong. I think the red is a bit stonger.
Some versions require a lot of torque to break loose, some versions
suggest a little heat. If you are going to use Loctite then the blue
version should be fine. I have built a few wheels with nothing but
Triflow. A lubricant, not a spoke prep or locking compound. I did not
have issues with spokes going loose when the wheel is properly
tensioned.

Rim deformed(dented) there and the tension is too low. Raise the
tension there and accept the flat spot or rebuild with a new rim.
