The other day I decided to put the LX V-brakes I've got lying around on the
front of my MTB. I've bolted them on, got the pads on etc. but there's a
slight gap between the back of the brakes and the fork where they swivel on
the brake boss. Have I got a missing shim or something, or is everything OK?

amazed by how much better they are than the cheapo no name V-brakes I had
before. Reckon I'm going to have a couple of worrying back wheel off the
floor moments with these on 😄. -

I like the cheaper Deore ones without parallel push, but V's are good
(the noodle is possible a weak point, but they can be bought as spares).
