Great news from the West on how one club has been formed using the Ride
It licence and has grown to become the largest single club in WA. In
this article from Paul Tye, one of the founding members of Cyclo
Sportif, he tells how the club has cracked the formula for attracting
the coffee-loving bunch riders who rarely join bike clubs.

Chris Thompson CEO of the WA Cycling Federation said that "WA Cyclo
Sportif is a French tradition that invites cycling enthusiasts to
participate en masse before or after major racing events. It evolved
from the Audax 'brevet' which is based on a team captain driving a
team on a fixed average time and the 'Randonneurs brevet' which
allows riders to go as fast as they can. The events have also provided
participants with the opportunity to work on their cycling skills in a
supported team environment."
