Eeer, yeah?! That sounds great! (whispering now; "what the truck is petit déjeuner de Samedi? Maybe I should have watched those French foodie thingies at the start of the SBS TV bike race stuff earlier this year?)

The Coffee(s) [there has to be more than 1 thou] bit I have no problems with understanding:D

Apols, just a wanky way of saying "Satdy brekkie". Is there a Babelfish app for Strine? Don't worry I attended Art School in the 80's, hopefully most of it's negative influence has worn off...I was wearing laceup steelcaps last night!

Heh. My sppam filter doesn't like fancy letters in the subject line
:)

I shall attempt to be there. Spot the ugly guy with red stuff all
over his face :)

I should be there too.
I'll look out for TimC as he's the only face I will recognise.

Mutter, mutter, mutter.... I won't make it but it's sorta good.

My brother, the very recent bike commuting convert, is coming over to
pick up my sisters old 10 speed which I'm peeling about 15 years of
solid "back of the shed" time off of. So far the biggest problems are
rusted cables, bent rear axle, really, really, really /_DEAD_/ tyres
and tubes (woods valve type... ), spectacularly rusted chain and
sprockets and a Shimano Altus derailleur. But I'll only get to all that
stuff after I've evicted the redbacks from the frame and handlebars...

I should be there, but I don't know ANY of you - how will I spot the aus.bicycle brigade without the raunchy business cards that were suggested recently? Anyway, I'd be the guy with the old GT mountain bike running slick tyres and eggbeaters.

Seems from the web site that there will be a big screen set up somewhere (Argyle Sq probably), so that may be a good vantage point for the race.

Look for the dodgy crew surrounding the young lad sporting some recent facial road rash. I'm short & possibly will have chalk dust on hands etc. :D

Ah, so you've sold him on the idea of building a fixie conversion already,
huh?

This was the most "Fixed" bike I ever saw. The bottom bracket - fixed
(seized), 5 speed freewheel - fixed, headset - fixed, etc. A few tools,
a litre or so of deisel and a few old toothbrushes got the "go"
department all happening again. The "stop" department still needs work
- I wouldn't even rely on it for VERY gentle retardation let alone your
actual braking...:)

I should think so...:)
