M2 Tunnel open

Gday,

i was just wondering if the M2 tunnel (sydney for all those playing in mexico) tunnel was open to cyclists still? if not does anyone know how far up you can go?

Bikes cannot use the Lane Cove Tunnel, but there's now a dedicated cycle lane on Epping Rd.

AFAIK you're free to use the shoulder on all of the M2/M7 west of the LCT. The M7 also has a pretty mean cycleway that runs for ~40km with full lighting. Plenty of riders use that as a safe alternative for training.

Not quite true

Between Lane Cove Rd and Beecroft Rd (that includes the tunnel) bikes are banned WESTBOUND. The rest of the westbound lanes and the entire eastbound M2 is still bikeable. For now...

Transurban have lied and cheated their way to a 'compromise' alternate route.

They say they consulted local stake holders - if you take "Take this - or else" to be a compromise.
