Macalu Professional titanium frame - great deal!

First, let me make it clear that I have no financial or other interest in any of the vendors mentioned by name. This is simply a story with a happy ending that I wanted to share. A few months ago a member of my cycling club asked for my advice on a new bike. I ride a Merlin Extralight w/ Campy Chorus and am quite happy with the frame and components. But, he was on a much tighter budget. After a little investigation, I recommended the Macalu Professional from Excel Sports in Denver. This frame is manufactured by American Bicycle Group, in the same manufacturing facility that makes Merlins, Lightspeeds and other titanium frames. The geometry is basically the 2004 Lightspeed Tuscany. My friend got a complete bike with Campy Centaur, Ritchie fork, seatpost and stem, Selle Italia saddle for ~$2,400. They built and shipped the bike within about 3 days of his order. I saw the bike yesterday and inspected the fabrication closely. The welds are identical to my Merlin and the fit and finish were beautiful. My friend went for his first ride on the bike yesterday and was absolutely thrilled with the bike. I'm sure there are other great bikes for $2,400, but this seems to me to be a pretty good bike for the money.
