Magellan GPS

I have bought a Magellan GPS while I was in Australia, and it worked fine
for a while in the UK. I know that GPS units are global, but this is just
weird.

The problem is that the GPS would power cycle on and off while looking for
satallites. Now it refuses to power on. Any one got any experiance of
Magellan GPS units know what the problem may be? I am waiting for Magellan
tech support but wonderd if anyone may know.....

Many Thanks

First, try removing the memory card (if it has one).

Some versions of the firmware are pretty flakey, and the newest version
isn't necessarily the most reliable. This sort of behaviour has been seen
before and might be reduced if you can get it to do a full memory clear.

There are instructions for doing this in the Yahoo group
(http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Magellan_Meridian) - tech support there
is much better than Magellan's.
