I know everyone normally takes their own bike, but are there any hire shops where you can hire
a _real_ bike on the island?. Have been there twice sans velo and would really really like to
do the Puig.

There are lots of people that don't take their own bike. Not sure what a 'real' bike is, but
these people http://www.velosportmallorca.com have a good selection of bikes and will deliver to
your hotel. I have used them in the past, and found the bikes to be well maintained, and the
service reliable.

by _real_ I mean not an old rusty MTB, as long as it is a reasonably lightweight road bike it will
do. Thanks for the info; it was only after posting that I noticed the previous thread re Pollensa,
will try them as well.

It also answers my question about whether they will mind if I swap the pedals: the bikes are not
supplied with them!
