make a battery pack for a bike light

don't get the ones with the tabs on the top just the
ones that have tabs on the botton. get the stainless
steel tabs which to spot weld and some have tinned
tabs. The tinned tabs are the ones you don't want to
get. Lay 15 cells side by side - connect one of the
tabs backwards against the bend and you may have
then completely overlap for the width of the battery.
give the surface a rub or else the solder won't stick.
solder the surface but and solder them together.
Use solder which has about 170% led and 130%tin
which has the lowest melting temperature. before
making each join. use insulation tape to bind the
15 cells together- solder all the tabs together.
Wrap a heap more tape around it to make it firmer.

You've been staying up late, too often, to watch the TdF.

If all this advice is related to gettig the soldering to stick, just
grind the plating off the tabs.

You know, those rechargeable cordless drill batteries are now
available in a range of capacities from Supacheap Auto, at pretty
reasonable prices...
