  1. I have a couple of newbie questions regarding these forks. I've checked the
manufacturers website but they don't give advice on maintenance. Firstly,
there is a nipple on each of the fork arms with a "microlube" sticker under
it. How do I lube the fork using this nipple and what type of lube do I use?
How often should it be lubricated if I'm riding 20-30Km a day on mostly
    single track and fire trail?

Secondly, should I keep a thin film of grease on the "piston" part of the
fork? If so, what type of grease/lubricant?

    Thanking you in advance.....

    Hi there..

I own a set of similar forks so can help you out hopefully.

To lube that fork you'll need a special manitou grease gun and tube of
Prep-M grease - Should be available at your local mountain bike store -
Not too expensive. With those kinds of distances I'd be inclined to put
a few squirts in each fork leg about once a week, maybe more if it's
been particularly filthy or raining. Don't put too much in at once.. 2-3
good squirts is all it needs to keep moving well really, as long as you
keep it clean and don't remove the boots...

I do put a thin film on the fork leg inners (or 'pistons'😉, using
the same grease, as I don't like to mix different greases - Seems to
    work for me!

Otherwise they don't need much more maintenance than that on a regular
basis. Occasionally they'll need to be pulled apart and fully serviced
but you can leave that to your bike store if you feel safer - But it's
probably not hard if you can get your hands on a manual - I'll see if I
can find an electronic copy - I think I had one once...
