  1. Hi.

I removed one of the springs in the fork leg, to make the fork much softer, since it is very
difficult to get spare parts for Marzocchi forks where I come from. The question is whether removing
on of the springs will damage the fork since it is now "unbalanced", with both the springs I had
absolutely no SAG and by removing one of them it now works fine... did I do the right thing?

    Thanks Tom.

  2. Put the spring back in! Period. Someone is going to reply saying it's fine since it's working fine, but trust me you are going to regret it if you want the fork to last more than a few months. You can get softer springs from the internet pretty easily. They can be found as cheap as $25 to $60 depending on seller and maker.

Just for laughs contact Marzocchi and let them know what you have done. You might get a kick out of their reply. You'll be the cause of some chills for a few techs! But seriously, there is a great potential for catastrophic failure when you subject a fork to extremely abnormal conditions and states of repair. Take care and have fun riding, once that spring is back in.

    K.
